A righteous leader leads with justice;
they seek the welfare of the poor.
The nation’s song is sure and joyous.
They seek God’s peace forevermore.
They care for those who mercy seek
and crush the ones who wound the weak.
A righteous reign renews creation
and pulls us to a peaceful place.
From ev’ry land and ev’ry nation
erupts a cry for truth and grace.
Like rain that falls upon the ground,
God’s righteousness and peace abound.
A righteous people fight oppression
and seek to end the violent way
with words and works of God’s expression
whose strength sustains them ev’ry day.
Blessed be the God of wondrous things
for whom all God’s creation sings.
